In October 2003, The Pew Charitable Trust, The Lenfest Foundation and The Annenberg Foundation announced a five-year challenge grant to build a $50 million endowment for the Kimmel Center. As the foundations pledged their operational support for the Center, they challenged others in the region to provide additional financial support in the form of endowment gifts. To receive $13 million in operational funding, the Kimmel Center must raise $50 million in endowment monies by 2007.
The Kimmel Centerís income from our endowment helps maintain reasonable ticket prices and allows us to make concerts more accessible to the public. Kimmel Center endowment opportunities include supporting education programs, executive positions, concerts or series, or specific areas and rooms in the Kimmel Center.
