Wedding Music
The Wilmington Academy of Music, long recognized as the area’s premier music school, has become the best source of wedding planners
and brides for music and musicians of the highest caliber. The Academy offers a wide range of ensembles consisting of members of
their outstanding faculty and other highly skilled, experienced area professionals.
The Academy of Music has an extensive library of traditional wedding and special occasion music and offers the expertise of an experienced
musician/planner who will assist you in selecting music appropriate for your ceremony or reception. She will thus ensure that the music
will complement the setting and create the mood you desire for your special occasion.
Ensembles
Our ensembles include string quartets, trios and duos. A flute may be substituted for a violin in the quartet, trio or duo. We also have a piano trio consisting of a piano, violin or flute and cello. Another option is a classical guitarist who can play solo or with flute or violin. An ensemble consisting of woodwinds is another option. This would include flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and French horn. A trumpeter is also available. Of course any of the aforementioned instruments could be combined as a soloist with the piano or organ. In any event our musician/planner can help you select the ensemble most appropriate for size and location of your wedding or special event.
Receptions
All ensembles performing for the ceremony may also be booked for the reception or special event. In addition to classical ensembles, jazz duos, trios or quartets are available. These groups generally consist of piano, percussion, string bass or saxophone. The performers are all highly accomplished, experienced musicians and are a refreshing change from the deejays and “Top 40” bands that frequently perform at receptions.
