Wedding MusicThe Wilmington Academy of Music, long recognized as the area's premier music school, has become the best source of wedding planners for music and musicians of the highest caliber. The Academy offers a wide range of groups and ensembles made up of members of their outstanding faculty and other highly skilled and experienced area professionals. The music is carefully designed for your wedding ceremony, or reception, to complement the setting and create the mood you desire. The Academy of Music also offers a free consultation with an experienced music designer who will assist you in choosing the most appropriate music to insure that your wedding will be totally unique and unforgettable.
Receptions & Special Music
All ensembles performing music for the ceremony may also be booked for receptions or other events. In addition to these ensembles, contemporary groups are available in the form of solo jazz piano or jazz trios and quartets. These groups are made up of piano, bass, drums and saxophone or trumpet and perform a wide range of traditional and contemporary jazz as well as light rock. The performers in the jazz ensembles are all highly accomplished musicians with years of performance experience on the local and national level and are a refreshing change from the deejays and "Top 40" bands that frequently perform at receptions.Music Selection
The Academy of Music has a library of scores and arrangements that include virtually all the traditional wedding and special occasion music available, and will furnish tapes of various performing ensembles to help you make your selections. In addition to traditional music, non-traditional and contemporary music may also be performed to make your occasion a more distinctive and memorable event for you and your guests. An experienced orchestrator will meet with you to assist in designing the music and will write special arrangements for any instrumentation upon request.
Ensembles
Regardless of the size wedding or reception, the Academy of Music will tailor the music and musicians to fit the occasion by offering a wide range of musical options. For a small intimate wedding or party, you may wish to have the music performed by flute and guitar or piano and a soloist; e.g., piano and violin, piano and cello, piano and voice. For a larger ceremony or event, a string quartet or chamber music orchestra may be desired. Other ensembles consisting of any combination of piano, strings, brass, woodwinds and voice may be selected to insure the most appropriate instrumentation to perform your selection of music.
