Jackson Norvell is currently Director of Bands at Topsail Middle School. He is also the principal trumpeter for the Opera House Theatre Co. Performing in weddings and other special events is something that he has been doing for several years as well. During his sophomore year in college, Jackson won the Richard R. Deas Competition for soloing with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra.
Jackson has participated in many performing ensembles including the UNCW 7 O'clock Big Band which recorded two CD's during his college career, One CD was made to commemorate a European tour the band took in 1997, where they performed at the prestigious North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands He also performs with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra
While trumpet is his main instrmnent, Jackson is certified and talented in teaching all brass instruments.
