Jason Calhoun is a graduate of UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar Performance. He is a former student of Bob Russell and teaches jazz, rock and other popular styles, as well as theory and composition.

He is a former student of Barry David Salwen and recipient of the
William F. Adcock Scholarship in music.
