Janet graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in education from Keane College in New Jersey.  She taught in the New Hanover and Brunswick County schools and has a broad knowledge of musical approaches that she tailors to meet the needs of her students.  Her teaching combines solo repertoire and ensemble playing.  She is active in the Raleigh Area Flute Association and has participated as a judge at contests in Raleigh and has attended numerous master classes with world  renowned flutists.  She performs at weddings and church services throughout southeastern North Carolina and has performed with the Coastal Carolina Flute Ensemble, the Brunswick Concert Band, and the Cape Fear Symphony.
